颐 和 园 Yi He Yuan These are expressionist works of my
feelings from the impact the summer palace had on me. This Palace was built
by Empress Dowager Cixi, who was a third rank concubine and rose to power when
appointed as a regent who ruled during her son Tongzhis minority. She was
the evil schemer, bent on fulfilling her own ambitions. The style of painting is Neo
Expressionism. The spirited use of color reflects the metaphysical energy
surrounding the Yihe Yuan. Total size of this work is 105 wide
by 54 tall. |
