“This is a painting of Liu Yin and was finished about 3 months after we met
in 2003. I was busy finishing my documentary about Artists in Beijing and
haven’t done a painting in a while. I thought it would take some time to get
back into the flow again, but when I started to paint, the image just went
straight through me to the canvas in about a half an hour. I think this is
one of my best works.” The style is Post Modern Impressionism
and the painting technique brings out the emotional feelings from this person
with the bold color and strong brush work. |
